As we all know, the world has been put on hold. Music festivals have been canceled for 2020, and as much as we miss dancing in big crowds under the stars, we do believe this is the right thing to do. It must be heartbreaking for most festival organizers to not have a festival at all this year, but people’s safety and health is an absolute priority, especially right now.
While staying at home, we couldn’t help, but daydream about the festivals we’ll get to experience next year! Listening to more music than ever before (thank you, quarantine), we have also been getting lost, in the best way possible, on the Internet, making big plans for 2021.
So, without further ado, here is Evedo’s top 10 music festivals wishlist we have been patiently (but with excitement) working on. See you there, we’re already counting the days.
1. Tomorrowland
Tomorrowland is the festival of festivals. When compiling this little wishlist of ours, it was absolutely clear it deserves first place. We believe everybody should experience Tomorrowland at least once in their lifetime.
This year Tomorrowland held an insane digital festival that gathered more than 1 million people across the globe. You can learn everything about what went down here and here. And you can learn more about their event in 2021 here.

2. Burning Man
Burning Man is one of the sexiest, grooviest, most mysterious festivals to be ever made. If Burning Man was a guy, he would be trouble, he’d drive you crazy, but you’d be seriously struggling to not fall for it.
“Once a year, tens of thousands of people gather in Nevada’s Black Rock Desert to create Black Rock City, a temporary metropolis dedicated to community, art, self-expression, and self-reliance. In this crucible of creativity, all are welcome.”
More than just a music festival, Burning Man carries this huge legacy and, oh, the stories people have told us! We cannot wait to put on our combat boots and get them all dusty dancing in the desert.

The dates are August 30 to September 6, 2020, and as much as we know that nothing can compare to being there in Black Rock City in real life, we have to say this Multiverse sounds pretty rad too!

3. Coachella
Coachella has always been one of our favorites! Two decades of amazing line-ups, the sweet Californian weather, and US celebrities being regulars at the festival, it has righteously earned its spot on our music festivals bucket list.
This is probably the perfect moment for me to admit that I’ve watched Beyoncé’s 2018 Coachella performance three times already, and I am still excited to go back and watch it again. You can find the documentary on Netflix and it will definitely get you hyped up for next April!

4. Glastonbury
UK’s biggest and most loved music festival, Glastonbury had to join our list of festivals we’re looking forward to attending in 2021. Do you know that their very first event was held in 1970 (50 years ago, wow!) on the day after Jimi Hendrix passed away, and the ticket cost £1 which included free milk from the farm? Quite cool if you ask me.
Jumping to 2019, the festival had 203,000 attendees with tickets at £248 and British rapper Stormzy giving a smashing performance as their first headliner to be announced.

5. Lollapalooza
There are many things we appreciate about Chicago-born Lollapalooza, but there’s one thing which surely differentiates it from most other festivals — its international expansion. They’ve held successful events in Chile, Brazil, Argentina, Germany, Sweden, and France!
This year, the organizers invited attendees to join them from July 30 to August 2 for Lolla2020 — “a weekend-long virtual event which will include performances from around the city and beyond, epic archival sets from Chicago and the festival’s six international editions, never-before-seen footage from the 1990s and much more.”
With a 2020 line-up that originally included names like A$AP Rocky, Chance The Rapper, Cypress Hill, H.E.R., Kali Uchis, Masego, and Tyler, the Creator, we cannot wait to discover what they have in store for us for summer 2021!

6. Sziget Festival
I’m not too sure how to pronounce the name of this festival either, but it is certainly one of the festivals which make us proud to be European and to be working in this industry. Some even call it the European alternative to Burning Man!
With an event in 1994 headlined by performers from the original Woodstock, a variety of awards, and an island of its own (called The Island of Freedom), it’s a must on our wishlist.
Their #SzigetTogether online festival featured a diverse mix of artists per usual, and we’re already looking forward to waking up by the Danube in summer 2021.

7. Lovefest
Lovefest is one of our favorites when it comes to Eastern European music festivals. We need to immediately mention that it is one of the few events which will be taking place this summer, and with headliners like Loco Dice, Apollonia, Michael Bibi, and Patrick Topping, all electronic music lovers are impatiently waiting for September to start.
Lovefest is promising to keep us safe, while also providing us with the festival experience we deserve to have this year. After months of lockdown and the whole world almost stopping, we believe a healthy dose of dancing and fun will do us all good.

8. Family Piknik
Talking about the summer of 2020 not being over yet, we have to tell you that there is one more festival which we will be heading to before autumn arrives. It’s Family Piknik!
Capped at 5,000 people, the team behind the open-air techno festival has been closely working with the local authorities to ensure a safe and sound experience for everybody. You can learn more about the event here and here.

9. Meadows in the mountains

10. Rock In Rio
Legendary Brazilian festival Rock In Rio will be returning to Lisbon in summer 2021 with Foo Fighters, The National, and Liam Gallagher as headliners. Contrary to what many might assume, the line-up is not only consisting of rock and metal music, with Drake headlining last year in 2019, for example.
With an impressive history of Queen performances and 1.5 million attendees at their very first edition in 1985, we figured this is something everyone should experience, at least once in their lifetime. Fireworks, their own festival anthem, and a Guinness World Record are only a few of the things which make Rock In Rio a unique music festival we’re hoping to discover for ourselves next year.

In 2020, we discovered the true power of and the necessity for music, more than we could have ever imagined. Music is what brings us together, it’s what gives us hope, it’s what inspires us. That is one of the reasons we do what we do!
As we’ve been watching the events and music festival industry turn upside down, we have also been doing our best to stay positive. Realizing life can be short, we decided to make this top 10 festival wishlist both for ourselves and for you, our community.
There are hundreds of festivals around the world, and people do have different tastes, but with this wishlist, we felt like we wanted to offer you a compilation featuring the best of the best. These are the festivals we look forward to experiencing at least once, and 2021 will be the year we start this journey!
